Essential Spelling List for  Year 1-3

The words in this section are used most often when you write. Together, they make up about three-quarters of most writing; so they are important. These words have been arranged in 7 lists according to how often they are used. Because they are used so often, it is very important that you learn to use and spell each one.

After 2 years at school children are expected to be able to spell at least List 1-3 correctly in their writing.
